C-Peptide Test (Fasting) in Hyderabad

₹930 · Fasting required · Same-day report on WhatsApp

Illustration: the pancreas releasing insulin and C-peptide into the blood, with an insulin pen set aside

What does this test check?

When the pancreas makes insulin, it releases C-peptide in equal amounts. Insulin injections do not contain C-peptide, so this test shows how much insulin your own body is producing, even if you already take insulin.

Diabetologists use it to help tell type 1 from type 2 diabetes, to check whether tablets may still work, and to plan treatment when diabetes is hard to control. Post-meal and random C-peptide can also be done.
